The Mystery of Persephone
According to Plato, myths have two parts: a fascinating, enchanting story, and a more internal part that contains truths about some of the deepest aspects of life. While the external part of the story entertains us, the psychological key of interpretation might open a door of understanding. When that door opens, the hidden message of the myth appears unveiled in front of the eyes of the mind. The Myth of Perspehone was associated with the Mysteries of Eleusis. This celebration, which centered around the figure of Persephone and her transformation from “Kore,” the young maiden, to “Queen of the Underworld,” was celebrated in Greece over 3,000 years ago. Join us in this Zoom meeting, in a journey to explore the inner symbolism of this inspiring and thought-provoking myth and its message of opportunity, renewal, and strength.

Fascinating words of Epictetus as he suggests in the Discourses important topics for consideration: “what is the administration of the universe, and what place therein the rational animal has; and consider also who you are, and what is the nature of your good and evil.” Amazing that almost 2000 years later, his words ring true.

Happy New Year!

A word of thanks. We would like to thank all those who have risen to the occasion to go above and beyond: healthcare professionals, first responders, and so many others who may or may not get recognized but who are an important part of our world. We stand together!

Mindful Mythology for Daily Life: The Labyrinth
According to Plato, myths have two parts: a fascinating, enchanting story, and a more internal part that contains truths about some of the deepest aspects of life. While the external part of the story entertains us, the psychological key of interpretation might open a door of understanding. When that door opens, the hidden message of the myth appears unveiled in front of the eyes of the mind. The Myth of the Labyrinth is the story of a hero who has to enter a complicated path to overcome his own fears represented in the figure of the Minotaur. It is also a story of hope and love, as the labyrinth represents life itself and Theseus’ search for the Minotaur is our own search to enter the labyrinth and overcome our own limitations. Join us to explore this timeless and inspiring story! RSVP in Eventbrite to receive zoom link.
